Save the date: MATRIX × IMAGINARY 2026 lands in New York City!
Hosted in MoMath’s brand new 36,000 sq ft home at 635 Sixth Avenue, the conference will gather exhibit designers, museum founders, and math outreach innovators from around the globe. It will take place just days before ICM 2026, and in the very week New York buzzes with World Cup excitement.
Highlights include:
- A panel of Fields Medalists, moderated by Steven Strogatz, discussing why math outreach is important even to top research mathematicians
- A panel of math writers
- An exhibit prototyping workshop with the exciting possibility of trying out the prototypes on the museum floor
- An opportunity to network with outreach experts, museum leaders, exhibit designers, and creative educators from around the globe.
- Your chance to be among the first to explore more than two dozen new exhibits at the National Museum of Mathematics.
- A truly New York experience, with unique social events under consideration including: an evening boat cruise past the Statue of Liberty, a World Cup Watch Party, an amazing evening at Monday Night Magic, and a group outing to a Broadway show.
- Perfect timing to roll straight from the conference into ICM 2026.
Travel note
World Cup demand has made New York hotel rooms scarce. We have secured a limited room block for conference attendees — fully refundable until July 16, 2026. We strongly recommend booking early.
